2013 Buick Riviera Concept which is shown for its 2nd debut at 2013 Shanghai Auto Show has brought little, but major changes by coming in plug-in hybrid electric car with some minor cosmetic tweaks on its exterior part since its first debut at 2007 Shanghai Auto Show, while the rest design’s concept is tried to be maintained by the vehicle.
Carrying elegant theme that inspired from Chinese’s proverb “The greatest good is like water”, 2013 Buick Riviera Concept takes the moving river’s vibrant nature and perpetuates it to the new version of its popular waterfall grille that replaces the old grille on its predecessor. Not only that, this car also gets new wing-shaped daytime running lights that makes its appearance look more elegant than 2013 Opel Mokka and its quirky gull-wing doors really gives that futuristic look too. Compared to the first concept, the new concept of 2013 Buick Riviera also has a raked windshield, metallic-fiber spoiler, and active grille shutters and diffusers. In the end, the new lower and sportier Buick Riviera 2013 built a stronger image of masculine and cool car by its Ice Celadon painting. When people are expecting to send this car to their garage, General Motors has confirmed that 2013 Riviera Concept, just like its predecessor, will only be a concept and will not available in production version.
2013 Buick Riviera Concept’s interior is essentially same as its first debut, but the material is more refined to fit the current trend and style. You will still find that sand-blasted aluminum alloy, lava suede and ebony material in the cabin. Some upgrades are made on its center console that is consider better than the first concept, front floating seats, and adaptive seating system. 2013 Buick Riviera made some improvements for its safety and technology system. A 4G LTE network mobile internet system is one of the technology improvements made to its interior features. This system is expected to help the driver to get real time traffic information, weather updates, and support your infotainment an entertainment need while communication with other vehicles is also made.
As we said before, this vehicle is planted by all-new, dual-mode Wireless Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (W-PHEV) system that gets its power from traditional cable or wireless recharge through a sensory panel on the car’s chassis. Let’s say if 2013 Buick Riviera finally makes its production version, it would be a big threat for 2013 BMW M3 DTM Champion, and 2014 Audi A4.
