A glance seems not enough when it comes to the new 2014 Volkswagen XL1, everybody will agree that they could turn their head for the second, third or even take a deep look once they see the unique appearance that attractively stole their attention.
Starting its first debut as a concept car at 2001 Qatar Motor Show, this year, the 2014 Volkswagen XL1 is finally ready to be released as a production version at 2013 Geneva Motor Show. As its concept that is first planned in Volkswagen 70th anniversary, now we could see how that concept become such a great realization with streamlined shape, butterfly-like door, and such a futuristic exterior design that is smoothly wrapped in silver body paint. 2014 Volkswagen XL1 also has typical of supercar including lightweight body of 795kg, aerodynamic structure, and low height of 1,153 mm. over all, its dimension which has only 3,888 mm length, and 1,665 mm width is considered extreme enough based on the automotive standards and comparison with other identical supercars. With all these body structure, 2014 Volkswagen XL1 is believed to have the best performance among other supercars. Also said to be the most efficient sport car in the country, this German legendary company seems not only give this supercar an impressive look but also an outstanding performance.
Unfortunately, unlike the exterior design that has become one of the most interesting topics, there’s not sufficient information revealed in case of its interior design. Looking back to the concept, only two seats will be surely put inside which both are racing seats. Rumors also said that there will be a change on the side view mirrors which is going to be replaced with a rear view cameras. While the rest of interior features including material and technologies specifications have not been officially announced.
2014 Volkswagen XL1 will be equipped with a combination of plug-in hybrid engine with 68 hp and 103 lb-ft of torque, 0.8 liter twin-cylinder diesel that delivers 73 hp, and 27 hp E-motor with seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
As mentioned before, This car has amazing fuel efficiency, which is only need 1.0 liter fuel to cover 100km distance or 235 mpg. It is absolutely more efficient than 2013 Nissan Quest. Besides that, this supercar also makes zero emission at its first 50 kilometers in electronic mode. Over all, Volkswagen XL1 offers a total of just 21g/km of CO2 and top speed of 160km/h with 100km/h acceleration in only 12.7 second. This supercar does really provide not only an outstanding look but also performance.
